What makes things complicated about the spectrum is each case is unique where each person has their own behavioral pattern along with specific strength and weaknesses in function. In the case of Aspergers, different individuals latch onto different topics of obsession, but they all seem to be technical or complex in nature. It's possible the high functioning brain of Aspergers embraces the challenge of a big topic to conquer and thrive in because their is unlimited information to focus the mind.
